Harry Potter still alive; his rap career not so much
Posted on July 31st, 2007 at 2:30 pm by Dr J.

You’d think Harry Potter in the hood would be referring to his invisibility cloak but no, this is actually the inevitable Harry Potter is gangsta video. As a concept, it’s clichéd out of the box but two things save this song. One, the unintentional comedy of “Harry’s” British accent, which can’t seem to decide if it wants to stay or go; and two, the song lyrics which are actually intentionally funny.

Created by Allan Murray and Sean Haines; this is actual the duo’s second hit YouTube video after their Paris in Jail song; which has already gotten over 8 million hits.

JFK Shot First: George Lucas remakes the Kennedy assasination
Posted on July 30th, 2007 at 5:07 pm by Dr J.

You know the only thing more disturbing than George Lucas’ insipid Special Editions of the Star Wars movies? What he’ll be forced to resort to once he runs out of his own movies to butcher.

And George Lucas remaking the Zapruder film would only be the beginning; imagine the moon landing (of Endor), or Jar Jar Binks being digitally added as the fifth Beatle on The Ed Sullivan Show.

(Anyway for a primer on what this whole nightmare is in reference to; check out THIS.)

Drew Carey reveals new details about Price is Right
Posted on July 30th, 2007 at 1:29 pm by Dr J.

drew-carey.jpgWhile the news Drew Carey is becoming the new host of The Price is Right has already been widely circulated, the actual details of the regime change have been hazy. That is until now.

Sitting down exclusively with Hitchaser over burgers at the historic Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank California.; Mr. Carey explained that while the basic premise of the show will stay the same, contestants guess the price of an item in order to win it; he does have a few ideas on how to keep the show fresh.

“The biggest perk of making it big is being able take your friends with you, so I was thinking of hiring Mimi, Kathy Kinney, as one of the new Barker’s Beauties. And instead of winners getting a new refrigerator; they’ll get to take home Ryan Stiles miming the appliance. We’ll make him stay in character for days on end - it’ll be hilarious!”

The Real World: superhero edition
Posted on July 29th, 2007 at 7:26 am by Dr J.

Fresh off the announcement from the San Diego Comic Book Con that Zeb Wells is going to be one of the writers on the thrice monthly Amazing Spiderman; here’s the YouTube video that originally got him hired at Marvel Comics.

Personal favorite moments: Supergirl as a belligerent drunk and The Incredible Hulk sounding like a mildly retarded Ray Romano… which is to say he just sounds like Ray Romano.

While it’s common knowledge that Yoko Ono sat in on much of The White Album sessions; it hadn’t previously been known that she had a video camera.

Here’s newly found footage of Yoko Ono shooting The White Album.

Drew Carey: Mimi new Barker Beauty on The Price is Right
Posted on July 29th, 2007 at 5:28 am by Dr J.

When I heard Drew Carey was taking over The Price is Right I could feel a collective shutter going through the spines of every Drew Carey Show fan.

Nothing personal against the big guy; but he has a habit of giving old friends jobs and I’m not sure my vision can take the eye sore that is Mimi that early in the morning.

(As opposed to the subtle outfits Rod Roddy used to wear I guess.)

Han shot first! explained
Posted on July 27th, 2007 at 6:42 pm by Dr J.

In a moment that’s multiple layers of a fan boy wet dream; George Lucas recently was caught on the set of Indiana Jones 4 with Harrison Ford, wearing a “Han Shot First!” tee shirt.

To explain what that means (I didn’t know); here’s the info baring video.

High school students strip for their teachers in Silkeborg, Denmark
Posted on July 24th, 2007 at 10:46 am by TheMuse

It turns out high school works just a little bit differently in Silkeborg, Denmark.

Every year a group of male and female students put on a strip tease, showing the student body their student bodies. The winners get to chose where in the cafeteria they’ll sit for the school year, and the teachers not only know about this, but are the judges.

This year’s event got a little more out of control however and four students recorded it on their cell phone cameras; posting it on the internet. While the schools head teacher, Erik Olesen, has punished the kids who took out their cell phones, he has yet to explain why that’s exploitive but two teenage girls taking off their tops, lathering each other in baby oil, and starting to make out – all in the name of getting a table at the school cafeteria isn’t.

The great nation of Denmark, ladies and gentlemen.

Anyway; with Olesen under a huge amount of fire to cancel the event permanently, what’s your take?

When it comes to social networking applications; there’s only one word… mostly because they can’t find the space bar key.

Hitchaser sponsor 8hands allows you to access all your social networking sites through a one-stop desktop application; and now that they’ve released their Alpha version, that much more so.

The new version of 8hands has added Facebook, and now supports private Flickr and YouTube among other upgrades.

So try it out for yourself HERE.

50 Cent sues over “Shoot the Rapper” banner ad
Posted on July 23rd, 2007 at 3:57 am by Dr J.

Are lawyers the lowest life forms on earth or just the worst liars?

Upon finding this banner ad entitled “Shoot the Rapper”, where web surfers can you know… shoot the unnamed rapper; 50 Cent become convinced it was about him because obviously everything is about him, and filed a lawsuit against Internet advertising company Traffix Inc for $1 million dollars.

However, most egregious about the Mickey Mouse lawsuit was 50 Cent’s lawyer, Peter Raymond, explanation; as a “well-known victim of gun violence” 50 Cent is “personally offended”.

Well documented pacifist 50 Cent is offended by video game like violence? Can I sue Peter Raymond for insulting my intelligence?
