Full House: the full vocabulary
Posted on August 31st, 2007 at 1:29 pm by Dr J.

I guess it’s not politically correct to use this kind of language around kids but if you were one of the adult cast members of Full House and you’re career was being overshadowed by the fucking Olsen Twins, you’d probably develop Tourettes too.

Here’s what I can only assume, with Bob Saget involved, is some of the more tame outtakes from the sitcom.

Judi Dench a singing and dancing 16-year-old?

Sixteen Going on Seventeen - WTF? Dame Judi Dench is more like 70 going on Methuselah. Taken from a Richard Rodgers tribute; I’ve got to admit she kind of pulls it off… but I’m still scared for life.

Lindsay Lohan fully loaded and country

Brought to you by the same guys who came up with the Harry Potter rap video here’s their take on Lindsay Lohan entitled “Fully Loaded.”

And while that’s not the real Lindsay in the video- it’s not why you think. She’s so unreliable even parodists won’t hire her anymore.

The L Word Exposed: Cast Commentary (NSFW)

I can’t normally sit through this type of thing; but this commentary track of The L Word Episode “Land Ahoy” is probably more entertaining then any actual episode of the show.

Featuring Leisha Hailey, Erin Daniels, and Kate Moennig, who by far are three funniest actresses from the series; they mock The L Word theme song (it really is awful), point out plausibility problems (unemployed writers wearing $700 blouses… actually everything involving the character Jenny), and just generally make fun of everyone involved with the show.

You can see the rest of the episode, starting HERE.

Common’s Drivin Me Wild uncommonly good
Posted on August 28th, 2007 at 5:07 pm by Dr J.

With respect to Juelz Santana; Common albums are like clockwork: they come out every couple of years, have really sharp, intelligent rhymes, clever videos; but no matter how commercial it looks, he never seems quite able to court mainstream success.

This latest go around features Lily Allen, a spacesuit, and really random Jeremy Piven. Let’s hope Drivin Me Wild breaks that trend - it’s certainly catchy enough.

Akon didn’t even write his own apology song
Posted on August 27th, 2007 at 5:08 pm by Dr J.

Well we got that his apology wasn’t sincere… but I had no idea it was this insincere.

TMZ is reporting that despite singer Akon recieving co-songwriting credit for his single “Sorry, Blame It On Me” apologizing for pretending to rape a 14-year-old girl onstage; the song was actually 100% the work of DJ/producer Clinton Sparks.

While we’ll try to reach Mr. Sparks for an official comment; it’s not yet known if Akon will later attribute the quote to himself.

Danny Devito: make sure you read the fine print

Danny DeVito & The Contract

How can you get a big (metaphorically) actor like Danny Devito to appear on a small show like FX’s “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”? Sometimes giving someone lip service, means literally giving someone lip service.

Ben & Jerry’s Policially Incorrect Ice Cream

Put together by NSTV, a sketch comedy group at Northwestern University, I can’t figure out why a student film is funnier than 95% of the sketches on SNL… it just is.

Jordin Sparks Tattoo: Her first single
Posted on August 25th, 2007 at 5:27 pm by Dr J.

Jordin Sparks first single has finally surfaced and it’s the greatest piece of music I’ve ever heard!

Yo, I’m just playing - other than the line “your on my heart, just like a tattoo” which is kind of clever, the rest of the song is extremely derivative. But she’s only 17 dawg… which I guess means we have years have shitty music left not to look forward too.

Is Star Trek dead or just Star Trek: The Next Generation?
Posted on August 24th, 2007 at 12:46 pm by Dr J.

newvoyages.jpgIt would not be an understatement to say America’s most successful sci-fi franchise has been lingering on life support in recent years. The films had become increasing lackluster, the TV show overstayed its welcome two spin offs ago, and the image of the average Star Trek fan can pretty much be summed up by that William Shatner SNL sketch where he famously yelled at them to get a life.

Yet there are a couple of signs Star Trek is posed to make a comeback, and after years of the franchise becoming carbon copy after carbon copy of Next Generation, it looks like they’re going back to the original source. Director J.J. Abrams, who created such shows as Alias and Lost, has a movie in production focusing on Kirk and Spock that’s a prequel to the original series. Another project, “blank” is already considered one of the most ambitious fan projects ever undertaken as they make amazingly sophisticated, the last one had 300 effects shots, fake new episodes of the original series.

While both feature limited participation from the original stars, the new movie is going feature a cameo by Leonard Nimoy; and the new episode of “New Voyages” stars George Takei the original Sulu; the basic assertion of both projects is that these characters have a life beyond the original actors who played them. It’s an interesting direction shift after the massive success of Star Trek: The Next Generation which seemed to suggest the “boldly go where no man has gone before” concept was the star, not any specific character.
