I don’t get offended easily but I find this “I Like a Boy” video featuring internet phenomena Obama Girl and rapper Mims exceedingly offensive. Billed as a thank you to the American troops who are risking their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan; it certainly works on that level but there’s this added subtext; with lip syncing Obama Girl Amber Lee implying she won’t be interested in a guy unless he’s enlisted.

Huh? Like I’m supposed to believe that flying halfway around the world to get shot at is going to help you score? How many of these supermodels do you see walking the red carpet with a quadriplegic as their date?

Look, there are many legitimate reasons, many of them noble for joining the Army but don’t insult our intelligence.

Side Note: that all said, Mims “Defend Your Sneakers” tee shirt is hilarious.
