The name Isis may ring many bells. It may calm a lot of hearts, and it may break a lot of walls. Isis is a unique experimental noise band, and for the past years they have been busy telling us the story of our lives through their atmospheric yet sometimes brutal melody.
Since 1998, Isis has collaborated with many important artists such as the grind masters Pig Destroyer and the hard art-rock veterans TOOL. They released a few memorable albums as well, such as the 2004 innovative ‘Panopticon’ and the 2002 cold ‘Oceanic'’. Isis won’t stop at that, they have a new album coming out in October 31, with the name ‘In the absence of truth’ and the band released one of the album’s songs called Dulcinea to the web.

Dulcinea embodies perfectly what Isis is all about: laid back instrumental playing, relaxly engineered songs that drain all the wetness from your mouth and tickles your hunger, as you keep longing for the nearest sudden change in the song to rise up your pulse. Dulcinea is a 7 minute trip that started out as what normally would seem like a little walk in the park and ended as a brutal emotional breakdown.
Previous and old Isis fans can recognize all the familiar characteristics in this song that are simply no other than Isis’s. For the untrained ear that may face this uncertified soul analyzing group of men called Isis, I can only say that now would be a great time to go to the therapist.
‘In the absence of truth’ will be out next month by Ipecac records (The Locust, Peeping Tom) so stick around.

Hey man,
Yeah this is a great album. A must have for any post-rock/post-metal fan. If you want to check out my review of it check out my blog, where I review Post-Rock music.
